Wir sind Octoclay Pottery – Sonja und Christian. We are Octoclay Pottery – Sonja and Christian.
Sonja tanzt, Christian ist Goldschmied. Was als dreitägiger Workshop begann, entwickelte sich rasch und unkontrolliert zu einem aufregenden Abenteuer. Heute ist Octoclay unsere gemeinsame Leidenschaft.
Wir lieben die Ruhe im Prozess, das Arbeiten mit Naturmaterialien und den Rhythmus, den uns das Handwerk schenkt. Wir sind frei, voller Begeisterung und manchmal liebenswürdig verplant.
Unser Anspruch zeigt sich in Form, Ausführung und der Liebe zum Detail. Diese Neugier treibt uns an, Neues zu lernen.
Besonders das acht Tage andauernde Feuern eines Noborigama-Ofens auf unserer Reise durch Japan bei Toshiaki Mori hat uns tief geprägt. Für diese Erlebnisse sind wir dankbar, denn sie fließen heute in jedes Stück ein, das wir formen.
Sonja dances, Christian is a goldsmith. What began as a three-day workshop quickly and unexpectedly grew into an exciting adventure. Today, Octoclay is our shared passion.
We love the calm of the process, working with natural materials, and the rhythm this craft gives us. We are free-spirited, full of enthusiasm, and sometimes endearingly scatterbrained.
Our standards show in form, execution, and attention to detail. This curiosity drives us to keep learning.
Especially the eight-day firing of a Noborigama kiln during our trip to Japan with Toshiaki Mori left a deep mark on us. We're grateful for these experiences – they flow into every piece we shape today.
